Dassie is a very warm and friendly hostess who made us feel very welcome and comfortable from the start. The room was neat, spacious, clean and warm when temperatures outside were sub-zero. Parking was safe and secure.
Spacious, cosy rooms that stay warm when it's sub-zero outside, safe parking and a hostess who goes the extra mile. In the heart of fly-fishing country.
Wild Oak is a country guesthouse in Jameson Street, in the mountain town of Barkly East.
Dassie welcomes every guest like family, and she's genuinely interested in where you've come from. Rooms are neat, spacious and clean, and properly warm when the highland frost sets in.
Come for the trout streams, the mountain passes and the snow in winter. Park safely behind the gate and come home to a quiet, comfortable night.

Family rooms sleep three each and double rooms sleep two. All neat, spacious and warm.

The North Eastern Cape highlands: trout streams, high passes and some of South Africa's best winter snow.

Dassie's hospitality is outstanding. She goes that extra mile to make her guests feel comfortable, and wants to make sure that they feel at home.
Writing a review is not something I normally do, but my last stay deserves a few lines at the very least. I do not recall a more peaceful and comfortable stay.
In town, in the heart of the North Eastern Cape highlands.
